Sex theme park to open in China

"Visitors try to get a glimpse of 'Love Land', billed as China's first-ever sex theme park, in southwest China's Chongqing municipality on May 15, 2009. The sex theme park is slated to open in October, but detractors hope the project will never see the light of day, as the exhibits of naked human sculptures, giant genitals and boasts a sex technique workshop is stirring up howls of protest. "

Danger Mouse to release blank CD-R in protest

Full story at the 'BBC' here.
Of course you can do what you want with the blank CD.
I would suggest you enter the words 'Danger Mouse Dark Night Of The Soul' in to the Captain Crawl search engine to the right and take it from there.
(What doesn't make sense is that Sparklehorse are on EMI and Danger Mouse has produced records by Damon Albarn's Gorillaz and The Good, The Bad & The Queen all of whom are on yep you guessed it EMI!)

Notice

To the girl on the Eltham train into the city tonight
- sorry
BUT
I have to tell you
that you are

German autobahn strewn with Euros

A German guy almost loses all the money he had to buy the car he was test driving, when the wind took the envelope containing 23,000 Euros out of the car...

FUNK MY SOUL! Motown's top 100 tracks

If you like soul music (and to be honest if you don't then you are obviously dead!)
then if you haven't already done so please take this chance to discover this wonderful blog:
'Funk My Soul'
It has been up and running for exactly a year now and to celebrate they have given ALL of us a magnificent present.
Back in February, MOJO Magazine in the UK put together a list of the top 100 Tamla Motown songs of all time as voted by the likes of Berry Gordy Jr, Lamont Dozier, Jerry Dammers, Iggy Pop, Mavis Staples, Wayne Kramer, Alan Vega, Cee-Lo Green, Johnny Marr, Mary Wilson and well the list goes on (and on!)
As The Popster said in his introduction:
"...Motown's legacy is that it was good, tough, optimistic, American 50's and 60's craftsmanship. It was close to being the peak art-form of post-war America..."
-Iggy Pop
If you go here you can download all of the hundred songs going from Rockwell's 'Somebody's Watching Me' (featuring surreptitious backing vocals by one Michael Jackson) at number 100 to'Dancing In The Streets' by Martha and the Vandellas at pole position.
Shit, I started dancing just as the download started!
Please visit the blog and remember it is common courtesy to say 'thank-you' and maybe you could wish them a 'happy birthday' while you are there too.

LYRICS: Sex Pistols - 'EMI' (Some things never change!)

There's unlimited supply
And there is no reason why
I tell you it was all a frame
They only did it 'cos of fame
Who?

E.M.I. E.M.I. E.M.I.

Too many people had the suss
Too many people support us
Un unlimited amount
Too many outlets in and out
Who?

E.M.I E.M.I E.M.I

And sir and friends are crucified
A day they wished that we had died
We are an addition
We are ruled by none
Never ever never

And you thought that we were faking
That we were all just money making
You do not believe we're for real
Or you would lose your cheap appeal?

Don't judge a book just by the cover
Unless you cover just another
And blind acceptance is a sign
Of stupid fools who stand in line
Like

E.M.I E.M.I E.M.I

Unlimted edition
With an unlimited supply
That was the only reason
We all had to say goodbye

Unlimited supply (E.M.I)
There is no reason why (E.M.I)
I tell you it was all a frame (E.M.I)
They only did it 'cos of fame (E.M.I)
I do not need the pressure (E.M.I)
I can't stand those useless fools (E.M.I)
Unlimited supply (E.M.I)
Hello E.M.I
Goodbye A & M

Sex Pistols - 'E.M.I.'

EMI refuses to release Danger Mouse/Sparklehorse collaboration! Anything to do with 'The Grey Album' perhaps?

Thanks to "an ongoing dispute with EMI," it turns out the Danger Mouse/Sparklehorse album part of the Dark Night of the Soul package-- which also includes a book of photographs by David Lynch-- will not get an official release, a spokesperson for Danger Mouse told the Tripwire. "Danger Mouse is unable to release the recorded music for Dark Night of The Soul without fear of being sued by EMI."

The Kelly Family (HELPMABOAB!)

The Kelly Family
This is a video of the Kelly Family crying during the song 'Amazing Grace' at a tv show in 1989. They are crying because this was the favourite song of their mother Barbara, who died in 1982.
Father Dan died in 2002.

Wilco - The Leak

Following the leak yesterday of the Wilco newie (due to be physically released on June 30th) the band have started streaming the album at their website here.
For anyone who has got it already the band said “If you have downloaded the record, we suggest you make a donation to one of the band’s favorite charities, the Inspiration Corporation — an organization we’ve supported in the past & who are doing great work in the city of Chicago."
My initial thoughts, much stronger overall than 'Sky Blue Sky' but one thing is there is still not enough utilisation of the wilder sounds of Nels Cline on the record.

"This piece of work is a bird's eye view of the history by scaling down a month length of time into one second. No letter is used for equal messaging to all viewers without language barrier. The blinking light, sound and the numbers on the world map show when, where and how many experiments each country have conducted. I created this work for the means of an interface to the people who are yet to know of the extremely grave, but present problem of the world."
