I just read the Irvine Welsh book, The Bedroom Secrets of the Master Chefs, it starts off at a Clash show in 1980 then moves forward to 2003. Irvine makes a lot of comments on how old the punks got. Sometimes Irvine is a big meany. I'm late for my nap.
2fuque/ From the White Riot tour (banned in Glasgow) to gigs at The Apollo/Music Machine/Brixton, with support acts from Richard Hell/Suicide/Slits/Futura painting a live backdrop...The Clash were the soundtrack to my youth. Paul Simonon is still cool. Irvine Welsh - hmmm! I have read all his books apart from that and I believe he has a new Trainspotting crew one out hasn't he? He's prolific but...his books seem to be the law of diminishing returns (at least fer me!) Regards/
