Israel 'must answer' for Gaza war

Israeli bombardment of Gaza

The Palestinians have urged the UN to act to punish Israel for its offensive in the Gaza Strip last winter.

The move reverses a Palestinian decision to defer action on a UN report that accuses both Israel and Hamas of war crimes during the conflict.

Israel rejected the report as biased during a UN Security Council debate.

Meanwhile, UN chief Ban Ki-moon urged "credible" investigations by Israel and the Palestinians into allegations of war crimes during the conflict.

  1. It is not Israel has done nothing to bring peace. They have had peace with Egypt and Jordan for years now.

believe me I am well aware of how many people within israel want an end to the conflict and who want to see a lasting peace in the whole region. However what we saw at the turning of this year was in some cases NOT just. If there were 'warcrimes' at the time, by either side, then i do feel that they should be addressed by the UN or at The Hague.
War is never good and in the end no one ever 'wins' but I do honestly believe that if any atrocities were committed then they should be dealt with by the courts of law available.
as an observER (from far away) i did see some things that I felt were morally wrong from a humanist point of view.
