I am however counting down the hours til the jingoistic shouts of 'Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi, Oi, Oi' shall scream from every newspaper cover and be shouted from every street corner by flag wearing Australians really proud that their country is up there with the greats and forgetting for a moment that each gold that Australia WILL win costs taxpayers in the region of 49 million dollars each!!! Fuck the Olympics. Fuck the commercialism of ALL sports and fuck the need to base yr national identity and sense of self on something so absolutely fugn meaningless /endrant
