You don't read women authors do you?

  1. Really, really depressing - and I speak as one who is predominantly reading woman authors at the moment. There have been attempts to rectify the balance and publishers like Virago, Persephone and The Women's Press are still valiently promoting women's writing. But there are so many valuable books by women lost or out of print when there are so many rubbish ones by men available that you can't help being angry at the prejudices of the publishing world.
