The Final Academy Documents






The Final Academy - a 1982 tour in Britain, organized by David Dawson, Roger Ely and Genesis P-Orridge. The project was based on, featuring works of and was inspired by William S Burroughs. The Final Academy Documents is a DVD of edited highlights from the tour, including Burroughs's public appearance in 1982 and reading from his work at Manchester's Haçienda club, a performance by John Giorno and includes the experimental film collaborations with Anthony Balch, Brion Gysin, and others - Towers Open Fire and Ghosts at No. 9

  1. Hey Mona, I knew Roger Ely when I was living in Brighton76-78, have spent all this time wondering what happened to him. He was writing poetry at the time, guess/hope he still is, and Throbbing Gristle played at Brighton Polytech Art School back then too, caused a bit of a stir, think another mate paul soho cocktails did the posters for the gig, which added to the infamy of the show, rofl

  3. Did go to all 4 nights of The FA down in Brixton as well as the expo at B2 at Butler's Wharf by the Thames, where I also caught one of the many TG gigs I saw...
