Several months ago, a religious school in the illegal Israeli settlement of Immanuel was criticized for segregating white Jewish students from non-white Jewish students in classes.Originally, the school was fined for this policy of racial segregation, because the school was state funded. Now, the Israeli education ministry has agreed with the white parents' request to allow the school to continue with its racial discrimination under private funding. There is no law preventing racial discrimination by private organizations, even schools, in Israel.
The Israeli court has interpreted these laws to also apply to illegal West bank settlements, like Immanuel, which are located in areas that are supposed to be under Palestinian control. The Palestinian Authority does not allow racial discrimination, but due to the Israeli military occupation of the Palestinian Territories, it has no authority over the area in question.
74 white girls who have been studying in a building next to the school will now be allowed to study in whites-only classrooms that are privately funded, as their parents claim they do not want their girls to study in racially-mixed classrooms.
@'IMEMC'
2. True: There was a racial discrimination issue in that school which the Israeli court had to intervene
3. False: the racial issue was an issue between religious Jewish orthodox group and super-religious Jewish orthodox group ,It was wrong and racial and should be allowed in any country , but the thing is it was NOT a black and white thing! i.e. it was racial but not color-racial.

To Jacqueline_Anon, am not quite sure of your definition of racial,
ReplyDelete"ra·cial
/ˈreɪʃəl/ Show Spelled[rey-shuhl] Show IPA
–adjective
1.
of, pertaining to, or characteristic of one race or the races of humankind.
2.
arising, occurring, or existing because of differences between races or racial attitudes: racial conflict; racial motivations."Dictionary.com
So are you saying that it was a conflict/disagreement arising out of their African/European cultural differences? Or their Religious Orthodox differences? Are these the same super religious Orthodox groups that "According to the book's(Torat Ha'Melech, or the King's Torah)author, Rabbi Yitzhak Shapira, "Non-Jews are "uncompassionate by nature" and should be killed in order to "curb their evil inclinations." "If we kill a gentile who has has violated one of the seven commandments… there is nothing wrong with the murder," Shapira insisted. Citing Jewish law as his source (or at least a very selective interpretation of it) he declared: "There is justification for killing babies if it is clear that they will grow up to harm us, and in such a situation they may be harmed deliberately, and not only during combat with adults.", who goes on to say,"It is not only true against non-Jews who are trying to destroy it but against Jewish people from any side." http://www.alternet.org/world/148016/how_to_kill_goyim_and_influence_people%3A_israeli_rabbis_defend_book%27s_shocking_religious_defense_of_killing_non-jews_%28with_video%29/
The fact of the matter is that Israel is a religious Apartheid system, denying basic human rights to any non-Jewish people, there are further problems down the track as "super religious Jewish Orthodox groups" try to strangle debate in the name of their self-perceived "perfection". The justifications of these "super religious Jewish Orthodox groups" are no different to the misguided Aryan/Master Race/Super Race philosophies of Nazi Germany. The "My Super Religion" invention is at the heart of Israel's problems, denying the humanity and spirituality of anyone outside the core group and fomenting violence against anyone outside the core group.
As it was only the African-Jewish group of children that was segregated from the "other Jewish group of children" it is amazing that all these "other children" were part of the "super religious Jewish Orthodox groups". I guess the African-Jewish families moved into the wrong "neighbourhood".
Any apologists for this state of affairs, are ignorantly fueling the fires of misinformation, ignorantly upholding the travesty of religious persecution, ignorantly supporting a self-destructive and inhumane society of injustice based and discriminated on religious intolerance, Israel is Apartheid, Boycott Israel Now.

ReplyDeleteif you would carefully read my broken English
you probably would have notice that i was neither defending that school racial doing nor was i defending any country act
What my take was on how Media spin facts.
Unfortunately 'What you are is what you read' and in the post-modern-internet-world that most of us live in it does not mean shit what you read because you have no idea how reliable the source it.
'They say things are done for the majority
don't believe half of what you see and none of what you hear
It's like what my painter friend Donald said to me
"Stick a fork in their ass and turn them over, they're done"'

2Jacqueline_Anon, what it all boils down to in the long run is the trust you put in your sources of information, you may have mistrusted the source of this article because it was from a Palestinian news source, rather than an Israeli one, my latest post from Haaretz.com, an Israeli source, highlights the fact that it is not just on religious grounds alone Israeli discrimination is becoming more entrenched. It is beginning with discrimination from an early age and highlights the discrepancies within the Jewish faith as regards followers of Judaism. To take a liberty with George Orwell," Some Jewish followers are more equal than other Jewish followers."
