Public Film made in 1971 covering Glasgow's redevelopment, most of which wasn't for the best . Directed by Oscar Marzaroli

Those 'New Jerusalem's' worked out SO well...

  1. It all sounded so hopeful but still looked so grim!

It's a shame that the ring road wasn't completed when planned. They're just sorting that out now, 30 years too late.

Shame, too, that Anderston never developed into the Brutalist masterpiece envisioned in this film. It looked spectacular!

There used to be a whole bunch of great films
(including the one above) about Glasgow on www.bestlaidschemes.com but the site's not working at the moment. I hope it's only a temporary glitch.

Oh how I remember it all so well.
I was brought up in Glasgow moving up there at the age of 6 months from Liverpool as my old man came ashore and could only find work on the Glasgow docks...I am sure that it has all changed now. I left in 77 and haven't been back since 86, tho my sis still lives there.
Will check out that site - thanx!
    Regards/
