Sound & Chaos: The Story of (Martin Bisi's) BC Studio
Martin Bisi - recorder extraordinaire and master of the boards - is lounging outside in the courtyard of the Gowanus-based building that houses his underground-famous recording hub BC Studio, reminiscing about his pre-Whole Foods, crime-ridden ‘hood. Cars engulfed in flames in that very courtyard, gang member brawls, and breakins were the norm 30-odd years ago in what was a desolate wasteland across from the still monumentally polluted Gowanus canal. A fledgling musician, producer, and engineer, Bisi, along with bassist Bill Laswell plus a wad of money fronted by Brian Eno, opened what ultimately would manifest itself as a revolutionary destination for the recording of experimental music, hip-hop, noise-rock, indie rock, and everything in between...

Some other things...
Suzanne Moore on Valerie Solanas and the SCUM Manifesto from 2004. I hope that Hannibal does continue. Good on you Elvis. Russia's 'straight' flag. Fuck that. Be afraid. Be very afraid. Taylor Swift forces government u-turn on welfare spending. Kim Fowley always came across to me as a creep but this tho also bear in mind this....War in the western suburbs. FFS! A skyscraper inspired by Beyoncé. E-mail a Melbourne tree. Perfect Home. BIBA. The Ketamine connection. Excuse me, I have something in my eye. I shouldn't laugh. I left London in 1984 with twenty quid and a one way ticket to Amsterdam and ended up two years later here in Melbourne. I left because Thatcher's Britain was not the way I thought the world should be. I thought that was the worst government I would ever live under. Oh boy was I wrong! Everyday I wake up to some new idiocy, oh and this just at teatime tonight. Who are they governing for? Never ignore your loved one. Finally if you use Comic Sans you better beware...

Pluto is the name for the electronic music made by Rolo McGinty, singer and writer of the Woodentops, the Uk Indie Rock and Roll band from the 80’s who had one of the first band\club crossover hits, with ‘Why Why Why’ an original Ibiza anthem.
Much of the Bands work was composed electronically before being brought to the band to perform live.
With The Pluto Project more designed for the club floor than the live stage Rolo found much critical acclaim and a couple of albums “Pluto Rising” and “Demolition Plates” contained tracks that proved themselves worthy in the hands of Dj’s across the board.
