The Bug presents Killing Sound Chapter 6: Blue
I turned to the blue side many moons ago… maybe as an only child Gemini it was inevitable from birth, lol. But my favourite musical colours have always been red for fire and blue for immersion.- Kevin 'The Bug' Martin
Maybe it’s because misery seeks company and we all feel better knowing someone else has been to the same zones of null. Maybe it’s the craving to know someone else is articulating loss so perfectly, but BLUE is a racially universal state of mind that unites us all in the need for release… and the need to drop some tears occasionally. The anatomy of melancholy is irresistible to me. There’s a beauty in sadness that goes way beyond self-pity, and magnetizes me to the purest of emotions. So many of these tracks have been my companions at difficult times, and some have even provided the catalyst for Bug eye droplets hitting the floor.
In this instance this mix is as deep as the ocean to me and twice as welcoming.

Tribute To Jaki Liebezeit (RBMA Mix)
Influential drummer, Can member and krautrock pioneer Jaki
Liebezeit passed away on January 22, 2016. Kirk Degiorgio honors Jaki’s
metronome style of playing with a two hour mix of his finest works
alongside Can, Manfred Schoof, David Sylvian & Holger Czukay, Jah
Wobble and more.
A founding member of legendary krautrock outfit Can, Jaki has been called “one of the few drummers to convincingly meld the funky and the cerebral” by Jeff Norman. Born in 1939 in Dresden, Liebezeit started out as a jazz musician. Spending the early 1960s in Barcelona, he played with Chet Baker and Tete Montoliu, joined the Manfred Schoof Quintet a little bit later, shaped European free jazz and finally took a ride into the psychedelic realm with Can – a group that always stressed that they were anything but a rock band. The ’80s saw Liebezeit as a member of Phantomband, working with Jah Wobble, Depeche Mode or Brian Eno, and forming drum ensembles such as Drums Off Chaos and Club Off Chaos. In recent years, most of all, his efforts with Burnt Friedman have been the center of attention
