Free Honigstein!!!
Bundesliga author and writer Rafa Honigstein, best known for his appearances on The Guardian’s Football Weekly podcast, got into a spot of bother today when he gave the wanking gesture live on air on BT Sport. Honigstein explained in a tweet afterwards that he thought the show was still in rehearsal, and didn’t realize he was on live television. There were reports on social media afterwards that Honigstein had been immediately kicked off the show, but he was seen on the same network a little later, so the reports that he had been sacked don’t appear to be true. Nevertheless, Twitter has started up a irreverent campaign with the #FreeHonigstein hash-tag. Bizarrely, this is the second time this weekend that a member (excuse the pun) of BT Sport has used the wanking gesture live on the network. (via)

♪♫ Eno & The Winkies - Peel Session 1974
The complete session recorded by Eno & The Winkies on 26 February 1974 for the John Peel show on BBC Radio 1 and broadcast on 5 March 1974.
1. The Paw Paw Negro Blowtorch (0:07)
2. Baby's On Fire/Totalled (3:25)
3. Fever (13:19)
The Winkies were formed by Canadian-born Philip Rambow with former Holy Rollers guitarist Guy Humphreys, and the rhythm section of Brian Turrington (bass) and Mike Desmaris (drums). Their music and stage presence were a combination of the sound pub rock and visuals of glam rock clothing.
The Winkies caught the attention Brian Eno while he was finishing his debut solo album, Here Come the Warm Jets. Eno took The Winkies as his backing band in February 1974, on his first and only solo tour. The outing ended after five shows, after Eno was rushed to the hospital suffering from a collapsed lung. In March 1974 the John Peel BBC radio show broadcast four songs from the 19 February 1974 performance - "The Paw Paw Negro Blowtorch", "Totalled", "Baby's on Fire" and a cover version of "Fever" (wiki)
