Ad Break: Hmmm?
Considering South Australia's reputation for grisly murders I'm really not sure that whichever little ad wanker thought this one up had really listened to the lyrics. 'Be consumed' indeed!
Does Nick Cave’s gothic chant sell the Barossa?

RIP: ARTURO VEGA: 1948-2013 Sleep gently my dear friend, you were the must optimistic, jubilant and fun pal anyone could wish for. I don't know what the world will be like without, nor do I want to even imagine it... But I know you will find eternal happiness wherever you end up....I love you Arturo. - Legs McNeil Arturo on The Ramones
I saw them as the ultimate all-American band. To me, they reflected the American character in general — an almost childish innocent aggression… I thought, ‘The Great Seal of the President of the United States’ would be perfect for the Ramones, with the eagle holding arrows — to symbolize strength and the aggression that would be used against whomever dares to attack us — and an olive branch, offered to those who want to be friendly. But we decided to change it a little bit. Instead of the olive branch, we had an apple tree branch, since the Ramones were American as apple pie. And since Johnny was such a baseball fanatic, we had the eagle hold a baseball bat instead of the arrows.Via

Martin Rev on Suicide's first album (ReasonanceFM 4/5/10)
Suicide by Suicide! In the early 70's Suicide burst on to New York's underground music scene performing their unique brand of 'Instrument' and 'Vocal'. The duo comprised of musician and keyboard player Martin Rev, alongside performance artist/vocalist Alan Vega. Suicide's early shows at the Mercer Arts Centre, Max's Kansas City, and CBGB's attracted the attention of both Glam Rock aficionados and the New Wave's burgeoning New Wave/Punk Rock clientèle alike. Press adulation led to their receiving a support slot on the Clash's 'Give Em Enough Rope' UK tour of 1979. It was here that their eponymous début was performed to a large audience for the very first time. Last year Iggy & The Stooges 'Raw Power' gigs at London's Hammersmith Apollo featured Suicide as chosen 'guests' of The Stooges on May 2nd and May 3rd 2010 where they performed their début album twice more. On May 4th Martin Rev gave Resonance 104.4 fm London this exclusive into Suicide's landmark début. http://martinrev.com
“As the author of the Patriot Act, I am
extremely troubled by the FBI’s interpretation of this legislation.
While I believe the Patriot Act appropriately balanced national security
concerns and civil rights, I have always worried about potential
abuses. The Bureau’s broad application for phone records was made under
the so-called business records provision of the Act. I do not believe
the broadly drafted FISA order is consistent with the requirements of
the Patriot Act. Seizing phone records of millions of innocent people is
excessive and un-American.”

'The Serpent of Sex-Perversion' (11 March 1932)
Sydney police with the aid of the Consorting Act have driven most of the infamous womenkind from the streets. As the means of banishing this eyesore, the Consorting Act has more than justified itself. But by skimming this scum off Sydney's well of foulness, the Consorting Act has laid bare a much greater menace to the health and morals of this city. The serpent of sex-perversion...
