    It's insane how the USA doesn't seem to care how barbaric it appears on the international scene.

    I can't talk. With any (bad)luck, the conservative govnmt of Canada will bring back the death penalty as soon as it thinks it can.

    Genuinely brought tears to my eyes - haven't followed the story too closely, but my understanding is that there was more than a shadow of a doubt about his guilt, and yet a teeny tiny chitty, similar to something requisitioning pens or staplers sends a possibly / probably innocent man to his death. Makes you proud to be a human, doesn't it?
